David Jones fashion launch
August 4th, 2009
THE Intercontinental Hotel is buzzing with top models, 'trendlets', fashion photographers and journalists who are all caught up in the David Jones PR whirlwind in preparation for the show's launch today.
I flew to Sydney on Sunday night to tackle the enviable task of reporting the annual event and it's been a hectic first day.
It has been non-stop photo shoots all over the hotel, from the lobby to the 31st floor photographing the stunning coming model sensation,
Charlotte Lohmann of Chic Management, in this summer's key looks.
When you combine the full lips, green, almond-shaped eyes, tousling chocolate locks and total 179cm height of
Charlotte, with the glamorous and colourful cocktail dresses of Alex Perry, you have a sure recipe for incredible editorial.
Post Alex Perry, I escorted
Charlotte to room 1402, the model hangout and general HQ, to have her make-up re-touched.
Surrounded and dwarfed by the gorgeous living dolls, I struck up a conversation with Heath Massi, the hairstylist from Australia's Next Top Model.
The hair he created for the models spoke volumes with a sleek and sexy va-va-voom flavour. And he says the look is easy enough for us girls to try at home.
All you need is a can of dry shampoo (a must-have summer handbag item) and his latest discovery, Luxurious Volume hairspray by John Frieda, which you can buy for $10 from Priceline. Bargain!
Today country gal Miranda Kerr takes to the stage before the 450 VIPs, celebrities, designers, media and Australian identities including actress Miranda Otto, MTV host Ruby Rose, Brisbane based designers Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson.
