well shes a supermodel in the philippines because she made it abroad. obviously shes not an international supermodel, but the philippines has only had Ana Bayle.....so...thats just what they call her.

EXACTLY. We can call someone a 'supermodel' if she's a successful INTERNATIONAL model. Ex: Giselle Bundchen, Gemma Ward, Isabeli Fontana...

I observed that Filipinos exaggerates it. Whenever someone from the media makes a segment about her they insists she's a supermodel. Chanel Iman is a supermodel but not this one. I have seen a lot of videos about her and her works and they kept on emphasizing she got Vogue when basically she just got onto their pages for just an advertisement for Charm4Life. It's not like the Vogue team chose her for an editorial. Be realistic.

The term supermodel is used so blithely these days the real essence of the word is watered down when even Charo is branded a supermodel. I like the girl very much, as evidenced by my numerous posts on this thread, but I don't think she has earned enough mileage to earn the title just yet.

And preppygoesrock? Do your assigment first before you lambast Charo's achievements. She did participate at last February's NY Fashion Week....I think she did three shows.

She's been to Europe because she was with New Madison Paris but I don't see her on their site anymore so she's probably not with them
The attention that she's getting locally is good but pure exaggeration because they keep on calling her "Supermodel" and "Asian Kate Moss" Charo is very commercial indeed but I hope she does something high fashion soon

She was with New Madison Paris before but I never saw any work of her from Europe. Maybe that's why she's not part of it anymore.
