Ok its November 1st..is that Marc by MJ store open Does anyone here live in the neighborhood and can tell us if there is anything in the windows yet? i never go to Bucktown.. the anticipation is killing me.

Still no MJ news but Me&Ro is opening a store on Oak Street on November 8th. There will be [SIZE=-1]limited-edition sapphire rings that are exclusive to the Chicago store...and their usual pieces.

No news on Marc Jacobs (I'd imagine that they would wait till after the New Year at this point, but I could be wrong). Cyntha Rowley opened down the street on Damen this past Thursday though.

On a sort of related note, a bunch of Chicago boutiques (Malabar, Eclectica, Eliana Lily) and designers (Vika Brown, Michelle Tan, Evil Kitty) are doing a shop in Water Tower Mall. It's up on the 7th floor and the point is to bring small boutiques downtown to Michigan Avenue. It's pretty cool - like being able to shop Wicker Park, Bucktown, Armitage, and such all at the same time.

Thanks for the info! I thought it was interesting that Akira opened in Water Tower. The idea is cool.

Even Lenscrafter carries designer eyeglass frames.Unfortunately we dont have a Dior boutique

Well, completely coincidentally to the Marc store's opening (and as a complete surprise to me until a few minutes ago), I'll be in Chicago for the weekend. Whether I make it to actual stores, however, will be a challenge!


Now to find someone to take my shift at work...
