looks rather sad this yumeji...the ones from the last page are so cute....^_^...
lots of elves in colourful tunics!!...what is the story about?...

arthur rackham's work is very much like the dulac work posted here...
from alice in wonderland...

^that's funny, because i always hear americans talking about this...but i don't think we have it in germany...at least it isn't that popular.
most of the other illustrations that were mentioned seem to be known worldwide...

runner, those are very beautiful:heart:, i especially love the second yumeji picture, and thanks for the information!

I LUV DR SUESS!!!!! It's really popular in australia, haha i luv it!

how can I forget the illustrations in the american girls book series? I thought the original and second edition illustrations were always lovely and beautiful (not the new ones...they've lost something), and I think all of the different periods portrayed in the book illustrations definitely influenced my love for historical and vintage fashion at a very early age.

by various illustrators...

Looking at these drawings make me want to run to the bookstore and read childrens books and take a hop down Memory Lane. Boy do I miss being a kid :p

artemis, i know the feeling. I always check chilkdren books when i go to libraries and book stores, they are good inspiration for my drawings/paintings ;)
