I know what you mean. There was another illustration by Anne Yvonne Gilbert of Beauty and the Beast, but I didn't post it cause it had a egyptian female sphynx . It was just too much for me too

Another great illustrator was Ida Rentoul Outhwaite. I "discovered" her work a couple of years ago, but had forgotten her name (not an easy name to remember, if you ask me). Fortunately, after much sleuthing, I found her again! So here are some images

I've found some great illustrations by Paulina Stuckey. I'm not sure if she has ever illustrated a children's book , but her works look like they belong in a fairy-tale book.
