Christian Dior Cruise 2023 by Laura Sciacovelli

it’s a good concept and it’s well executed. why are the pictures blurry though? is it on purpose?

who are the models though?

This looks like a very bland reproduction of what Deborah Turbeville did with Valentino circa 2012, which was far superior to this in all ways possible.

For a start the clothes here look like costumes, whereas in those Valentino campaigns, the clothes look very modern even though they were photographed in such baroque settings.

Second of all, Maria Grazia Chiuri has not once nailed the casting in any of her campaigns. Is it just me or are the girls she chooses terribly boring? Dior used to have real stars in their campaigns. What happened?

And don't get me started on how ridiculously stupid it is that she consistently forces her version of feminism down our throats, but then refuses to actually implement any true diversity or inclusivity of womanhood in her shows and her campaigns.

Where is the cohesion between the girls???

Oh I think this is kind of beautiful. I love the one girl in motion. Better than the FW campaign thats for sure.

I like the spanish elements of the designs and that this was shot in the Real Alcazar in Seville... I wish everything was more vibrant though.

Not understanding the need for Spanish connection, I honestly feel like Balenciaga (though young with modern appeal) should be tapping into their spanish influences as a house. This Dior, the boring nature of the collection- I am just not into. Perhaps I am too Dior by Galliano obsessed still. I need to look up their quarterly reports to see how Dior is doing. Everything feels so dull and flat to me. Interesting images for the campaign, to liven up the boring collection.
