Christian Dior 'Miss Dior' Fragrance 2021 : Natalie Portman by Will Davidson

Natalie always looks beautiful. However, I can't help but feel that as a 40 year old married mother of two, she's no longer the best spokesperson for Miss Dior.

Can you elaborate on this? Not sure how she can't be a good choice to front a fragrance campaign being a 40 y/o mother of 2 lol?

Because it's Miss Dior! It's supposed to be a youthful, girlish, and it's always had the campaigns to match. "Miss" is traditionally what you call an unmarried young woman. When Natalie was first cast in the campaign for Miss Dior (Cherie), she was in her 20s and it felt more appropriate. I'm not criticizing Natalie at all, I just think she has matured in the over a decade since she started doing campaigns for this fragrance, and she has grown out of it. She's no longer an ingenue, she's a powerful, businesswoman, actress, director, mother, etc. "Miss Dior" feels a bit infantilizing, for her. That's how I see it, anyway.

Think of it in reverse. Would it make sense to cast someone like Lila Grace Moss in a fragrance called "Madame Dior" aimed at middle-aged consumers?

I love this picture and she actually really fit for this fragrance, so I'm really appreciate the loyalty between the brand with her. Most of the women buying Miss Dior are around her age anyway. They have Joy by JL for that younger demographics.

I agree, they need a fresh face. Dior has had the same representatives for their perfumes for too long, it's a little tired at this point, no? Why not somebody like Saoirse Ronan for Miss Dior, for example? Or Anya Taylor-Joy? Even Emma Corrin would suit better than Natalie Portman, with all due respect.

Dior advertising is so mundane anyway. Whoever is in charge of appointing the celebrity faces is so basic.

I'm waiting for the video directed by Sofia Coppola (if she's still working with Dior).

At this point (unlike Charlize Theron for J'adore), Natalie Portman for Miss Dior does feel a little redundant but when a beautiful and rather flawless campaign image like this surfaces, I feel guilty having admitted to yearning for a replacement. This does feel like a breath of fresh air!
