First Look: Here are Christian Lacroix’s Designs for Desigual

By Lauren Sherman Wednesday, Jul 6, 2011 / 10:41 AM
Christian Lacroix may have left his namesake house, but he’s far from through with design. Most recently, the famous couturier teamed up with Barcelona high street brand Desigual on a collection of intricate ensembles for Fall 2011.
The clothes will hit Desigual stores in UK, Germany, and Spain on July 11. We’re trying to find out whether or not they’ll be available online for US customers.
Click through to see key looks from the collection, as well as a group of Monsieur Lacroix’s sketches.

This news shud make me happy but it just makes me sad. He shud be out there showing couture and he's now doing clothes for Desigual.

i've never heard of desigual...
and i don't know if this will be available in the US, but from what i can see i wouldn't want any of it :ninja:

sad, because he's definitely capable of producing really beautiful clothing

I think Desigual is pretty much his style, I´m loving the first coat.

Disigual is a very offish brand if you get what I mean, very loud and vibrant (maybe a bit too much soo).

I also really like the first one and the third one too. However the second design is just insane (in the wrong sense).

I wouldn't have put the skirt and the pullover together in the second pic, but I really like every clothes !! :woot:

I agree with Mackos, I always thought Desigual was pretty much his style.... ^_^

a big fat WHAT just escaped my lips

some pieces are fine, but the second look on the asian girl is just wrong

either way i HATE Desigual, it's gotten so popular tho, the whole brand is so utterly pretentious...

Desigual does stuff similar to Etro/Kenzo, right?

That's not cool. :ninja:

I hate desigual so much, it's pure trash. Why are you doing this?

Are we sure this isn't April Fools'?

Desigual is this over the top patchwork clothing mess.
they have a couple of stores in NY

now, this is a match made in heaven. although i have never purchased anything from desigual, it would at least get me in the door. every time i go into the new york store, it seems profoundly empty.

i would never buy anything from desigual, not even something designed by Christian Lacroix himself.....

I love the Desigual coats, fantastic pieces! And I love most of the handbags. Their focus on details is great, all those patches and different materials and patches and florals, it's colorful and fun. I would love to see more of Lacroix's work for them, I think it's a good match.
But maaan, I hate that the brand got so popular around here lately, I mean, yaaay for them, but it's so annoying when every second girl in the city wears Desigual. Even worse when you see they're wearing the low-priced discount-copies. I agree that some of their designs are too "loud" but if you combine it with uni-colors they make a great accessoire. If you're wearing it from head to toe it's worse.
