Christopher Kane S/S 2023 London

...because there is nothing more confortable and breathable than wearing PVC on spring/summer!!!

The mini black dress is interesting though. Instead of trying to audition for Paco Rabanne with all that plastic, it would have been wiser to go that mini black dress route with the whole collection.

I'm just happy he's doing physical shows again.

Textile material technology is not evolving fast enough

I watched the VOD on Instagram and I really enjoyed that collection. It has all the humour JWA lacks in his eponymous work.

Here's the video for those who are interested (skip to 3:42)

This sparked more joy than I've gotten from him in a while. I love the dress in look 12, but is it plastic?? In the video it looks a little more flowy than pvc. For me the problem with plastic clothes is that they never wear well. It looks great brand new, but after time, it looks soooooo f*cking gross and dirty even after cleaning. I was so excited about the Margiela pvc stuff a few years ago and it all looks so bad now

Those plastic corsets look like six-pack rings. And I hate transparent bra straps. They look so cheap, and these garments are not going to age well, and get disposable in the next few years, so much for a "loving the planet" a few seasons ago right Christopher?

I see a few hints of Prada here and there. And the styling is annoying. Stop adding unnecessary plastic details to the look, it only cheapens the clothes.

^I know. My mom owned a dress with transparent straps and I always thought it was the most awful thing in her wardrobe. Used like this, it indeed gives the impression of a distressed marine life specimen.

I do like the opening look and the canary yellow dress with cutouts at the ribs.
