Christopher Nemeth
20 April 1959 - 22 September 2010

Fashion Designer, Artist, Loving Father and Husband, has recently passed away in London, surrounded by his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all his close confidants as well as the many thousands of people who love his exquisite clothes.
Christopher was a revolutionary artist and craftsman who together with his wife Keiko ran their Tokyo shop together for almost 25 years.
He was longing to return to his studio to get on with his work till the very end.
A true gentleman of the highest order, a fine english tailor, a lover of life, a poet, a visionary, a revolutionary, a philosopher and a true punk.

Christopher Nemeth

Christopher Luis Nemeth was born in Birmingham, England in 1959. After graduating from Camberwell School of Arts, he began making clothes of his own. He met photographer Mark Lebon in a pub and was introduced to Judy Blame. He eventually began to attract the attention of magazines like i-D and The Face. Together with Lebon, stylist Blame (who has worked with Bjork, Boy George, Neneh Cherry, Massive Attack, and others) and shoe designer John Muir, they opened the House of Beauty & Culture, located near northeast Kings Road in the UK.

The first House of Beauty & Culture collection was showcased in London in 1985. In 1993, Nemeth moved his work to Tokyo and began selling his collection through the shop Sector. In November, he released his new collection “Violence Material.” December of that year saw the opening of his own Christopher Nemeth store in Harajuku. In December 1994, his “Hard Work” collection was showcased in Tokyo’s Ebisu district. He has since continued to produce unique clothing in Tokyo, where he has a deeply rooted fan base.

In addition to designing clothes, Christopher Nemeth is also a painter
