Chunky heels back in style?

I used to hate chunky heels because I always thought they looked tacky and clunky, but when they're done right they can be really beautiful and much much better than stilettos.

the arch looks odd... i can't exactly pinpoint what it is...

It looks like she came down heavily on the heel so it bent under a bit, and with some of her weight still on it, it hasn't yet released and gone back to the normal angle. (My Kenneth Coles do that if I'm not careful. )

According to those in the know, dont the zips on tight fitting boots dig into the skin? Of course if said boots were pill ups or perhaps even lace up style, then that would negate the problem.......

Just a last minute thought.

on my boots the zipper doesn't dig in the skin because there is a leather strip behind the zipper that protects the legs from hurting. I can't even feel the zipper.

i was thinking that, but then i went and looked at the other pictures from this show, and that's just how the shoe is made... the heel is oddly shaped/placed like that.

... if done properly. cos there definitely are some ugly chunky heeled shoes out there

I'll always prefer any alternative to stilettos -- this, and even the wedge heel (also seen everywhere, lately)...
