Coleen Rooney

Ooh. I didn't know there was a thread on Coleen. I like Coleen)probaly beacsue I think Wayne Rooney's one of the best players in the world) but seriously, she seems like a sweet, nice girl. She doesn't seem pretentious;she credits Victoria for her Birkin and really, she even though she may be a fashion victim for wearing all the trends at one time, she's probably just figuring out her style.

yes, she seems like a genuinely sweet girl and her style is mostly nice and the fact that she experiments gives her credit.
welcome to her thread!chocolatestain

COLEEN McLoughlin is making sure her planned clothing range at Asda will bowl over the competition - she's getting tips from her pals at posh Liverpool boutique Cricket.

An insider reveals: "Coleen's always in and out of Cricket and will be asking them to help with the designs."

Coleen, 21, is the latest celeb to jump on the fashion bandwagon, after Lily Allen put her name to a range for New Look and Kate Moss's Topshop collection was launched. Talk about rags to riches...

About her,from her website(coleenmcloughlin.net)

Coleen McLoughlin was born in 1986 in Liverpool. Her father was a bricklayer who ran a boxing club, and her mother was a nursery nurse.

5'3", Coleen first met Wayne Rooney when she was 12 years of age.

Wayne and Coleeen were known in the papers as the King and Queen of Chavs, and many of the tabloids focussed on Coleen's enthusiasm for shopping.

Coleen was deputy head of her Catholic girls' school, St John Bosco, where Wayne Rooney's mother was a part-time cleaner. Coleen McLoughlin gained 10 GCSEs.

After leaving school, Coleen McLoughlin acted in Hollyoaks, but has not established herself as an actress.

There have been some difficult times magnified by being in the public eye. At Coleen McLoughlin’s 18th birthday party a series of fights reportedly erupted between members of the Rooney and the McLoughlin families; and in 2004 Coleen was also exposed to the press after it was revealed that Wayne Rooney had visited a Liverpool brothel.

In June 2005 Coleen told Vogue: "Sometimes I wonder if I'm being punished for something that Wayne's done. In the end what matters to Wayne is what appears on the sports pages - he can go out and be a hero again on the football pitch. I can't ..."

Coleen was named the British Retail Consortium's Celebrity Shopper of 2005 with 38% of the vote. Well ahead of her nearest rivals: Abi Titmuss and Sienna Miller.

In May 2006, Coleen McLoughlin presented a moving report in the Tonight with Trevor McDonald strand that highlighted the lack of government funding for children's hospices.

The Sun had extracts from the book, Coleen: the Biography, in which Coleen McLoughlin explains her desire to be an actress and says:

"My big dream is to follow Jennifer Ellison or Billie Piper — I'm big fans of them both."

Life with Wayne:

Coleen McLoughlin and footballer Wayne Rooney first met in 1988 at St John Bosco Catholic School when she was only 14 years old. Their first date was a local cimema where they watched Austin Powers 2. The teenagers began to date more seriously in 2001 and to date their relationship has gone from strenght to strenght so much so that a big fairy-tale wedding is planned for the summer of 2008.

Their relationship has had its ups and downs, which is hardly unexpected when you are dating an international sports star. So far it has had more ups than downs until Wayne like Hugh Grant had a rather sordid liaison with a prostitute. But nevertheless his childhood sweetheart Coleen forgave him and took him back at a price. She accepted his marriage proposal on a petrol forecourt station, hardly a romantic place to propose and then in a vengeful mood threw his 46000 pound engagement ring into an otters enclosure at a zoo.

That was then ,but coming back to the present Miss McLouglin and her footballer fiance could hardly have been closer than on her 21st birthday which took place on April 1st at Thornton Manor,Wirral Merseyside. Perhaps this slightly elegant but humourous occasion can be considered to be a dress rehearsel for the big fairy-tale wedding planned for July next year. The fashion and lifestyle columinist and her fiance are rumoured to want exchange vows in a ceremony that will put the Beckhams and Hurley weddings to shame. I just hope that this pair can exceed the expectation of the previous ceremonies.

Closer Magazine said that Coleen has set her heart on a 'big traditional wedding.' 'Coleen wants her wedding to Wayne to be spectacular,so her star-studded 350 guest birthday bash will give her a taste of what to expect when planning the wedding,' according to the magazine.

Father of the bride Tony McLouglin who is a humble brick-layer will certainly have his hands full. We will have to wait and see how the pair resolve the financial implications of what that is going to cost. But Colette McLouglin the bride's mother has already started to help Coleen in her business, so may be thats a way out.

Ofcourse, Hello Magazine has already clinched the deal on exclusivity, the couple will be paid a awesome sum of 1.5m for their day,the highest any celebrity magazine has ever paid for a bash like this.

The international sports celebrity has not yet set a firm date to tie the knot, but said that the ceremony will focus around the Euro2008 tournament. Will they have a honeymoon or is Wayne going to be playing for his country and neglecting his bride.

Coleen's 21st birthday was a complete anathema to her 18th which was held in the Devonshire House Hotel Liverpool, and was ended by the police when a scuffle broke out. Lets hope that the food will be an improvement on what they had then, which was a buffet of cheese sandwiches, sausage rolls and curry and rice.

Obviously,Coleen's taste is improving in planning occasions because now that she has managed to amass quite a hefty income, security at the 21st bash was very tight. It was slightly more elegant, in a picturesque setting of 100 acre garden in the former home of the soap magnate William Hesketh.Guests were greeted by stilt walkers and jugglers in sailor suits and the whole occasion was inkeeping with the circus theme with a giant marquee and minifunfair. Lets hope that the the fairy-tale wedding is a more sedate affair.

Fashion and Glamour

GLAMOUR was never Coleen McLoughlin's strongest points, until she met Wayne Rooney and then she became Britain's most photographed woman by the tabloid press, other than the late Princess of Wales-Lady Diana.

In an interview with the Daily Star,Coleen did confess,''Like Betty I wore a brace and glasses when I was younger." But insisted that she as teenager never felt embarrassed as,"loads of other girls wore braces".

Coleen, the daughter of Tony and Colette McLoughlin,a bricklayer and nursery nurse is one of four children. She has two younger brothers Joe and Anthony and one sister Posie and they all grew up in the Croxteth area of Liverpool. She left school surprisingly enough with ten GCSEs and hopes of becoming an actress.

Well her close acquaintance with Wayne certainly changed all that because, the tabloids and the country soon began to notice her dress sense, her innocence, her youth so much so that she actually writes a regular column in CLOSER Magazine advising on lifestyle and dress sense.

Her popularity has gone from strenght to strenght because although she seems to be as comfortable in velour tracksuits as she is in designer outfits, she has never lost sight of her background or where she comes from. By the time she was 18 Miss McLoughlin soon amassed a small fortune of 5.5m pounds through sponsorship deals, writing for CLOSER on fashion and lifestyle and various modelling contracts for ASDA. Whilst she may not be in the Kate Moss league and admits to putting on weight and having to work out with a trainer both Coleen and Wayne like to try and stick to healthy diet with the odd lapse here and there. Coleen's success with fashion seems to emerge from her love of high street fashion which can be inexpensive but nevertheless still very stylish so much so that a well known publisher is offering her a very lucrative contract worth 1m pounds to write a book on fashion and lifestyle. How much of fashion or lifestyle a 21 year old has seen in this day and age will be something I will be looking forward to either reading reviews of it or if it is that brilliant I might take a peek myself.

What the future holds for Coleen and her international football star will be interesting to see, because although she will never I hope be short of cash and has a bright future to look forward as Mrs Rooney, in a recent column in CLOSER she had a word of caution for young women in debt. She wrote,''Apparently, more and more young women are getting into debt because they try to shop and party like a footballer's wife. There's so much great stuff on the high street-you can look amazing on a budget.''

Which makes me wonder that although this girl from Liverpool swapped her velour tracksuits for the Bond Street look to what extent was it to please Wayne. "I do ask Wayne's opinion on clothes but he is not very good at it.He will say if he doesn't like something though." So in a roundabout way fiance Wayne does get a chance to comment and influence the country fashion craze, regardless of whether he knows anything about fashion. He has been nicknamed as "Scruff" by NEW Magazine and fiancee Coleen says he gives it to her straight when it comes to clothes

In my opinion her style still equates to her being 'the Queen of the Chavs', long may she reign!
