When Colleen Quigley entered her freshman year at Nerinx Hall high school, it was automatically assumed she would carry on the Quigley family torch and join the cross country team. Her brother Dan was a successful runner for CBC and currently runs at Mizzou. Both of her parents are marathoners and her father, Gaylerd, has coached high school cross country for years. However, Colleen had different aspirations, namely playing soccer and continuing dance classes at Leapin' Lizards Performing Arts Studio.
