This is very bad, very dissapointing. The collection is up on GQ etc now, but sorry don't have time to post pics.
The whole rockabilly/teddy thing is really naff. The oversize coats are hideous. It's all black, no colour, dull dull dull. Rows and rows of black suits...... it's 1986 again!!! It is very very Yohji as others have said, almost uncanny, which I really don't understand. It's not just explicable on the basis that she ignores trends or what others are doing. That's simply not true. In the late 90s/early 00s comme cuts got much neater, slimmer, like all other menswear did at the time. Certainly much slimmer than comme fitting in the 80s. So what is the influence here - a simple move away from that for the sake of it. There is a LOT of big volume in menswear for AW 06 - particularly Raf for JS and Dries...........At least she didn't do leapard print though!
Anyway, there's vitually nothing appealling to me in this collection. The only thing I do like are the fabric inserts down some of the suits, but even then the suits themselves are horrid, so it doesn't matter.
Oh dear.......
