Coperni Pre-Fall 2023 Paris

There’s something deeply unlovable and overwrought about the clothes at coperni.

I struggle to see the appeal of those weird belts everywhere, a stupid idea. there’s this weird kaki skirt and then some minimal tailoring.

Bin it babes it’s hideous.

They try very, very hard to not look too overwrought but they really fail at it.

The Nicolas Balenciaga references are still showing too true in their collections. They will never be Nicolas' Balenciaga. And pretty sure the only way this brand stays afloat right now is via influencer gifting and sponsorship. So you know, trash for trash.

They won’t be able to pull another stunt in October so I hope they will wake up in terms of design!
The one they did in March was already poorly received by the general public...

It’s one of the cool (off the moment if we want to gas them up) brand now but they don’t have an identity or a POV. So at one point, the stunts won’t work.

Their association with the big girls will assure them a big cast anyway and some kind of exposure but stunts won’t work again. Yes the quality is better than Jacquemus but in substance they have nothing to say.

This could do well if the price is right. This stuff is giving exclusive Sandro. I can see the finale dress and that fuzzy pilot jacket doing well if they arent prestige priced. Also I dont mind a little NG fanfic brand.

I always say they used to be promising designers. The first version of Coperni was great, and so was their Courrèges. Nowadays, they're absolutely unbearable and focused on one-off gimmicks instead of the actual clothes. I wonder why they rely so much on the hype, as it's an extremely shortsighted direction which won't secure their position in the industry.

Their first three collections for "Reboot Coperni" were quite good too. Their offerings were quite well suited to young professionals who still wanted to be fashionable. It was during the pandemic where they started this supercool y2k22 look which blew them up alongside Blumarine, Sultry Virgin and KNWLS.
