Craig Green Men's F/W 2020.21 Paris

His best collection is a long time, perhaps the Paris move was a good idea. It's still very him but more focused and desirable. The first half is very strong, and those padded jackets in the end are so good. He was needing a good shakeup, hope it keeps up.

I love seeing this on the runway, but that's probably where most of it will stay. The last four looks are genius.

He can't just let go of the scaffolding concept that neither registers as new or interesting at this point.
I was expecting something less over-designed than this, like much of his previous work has been so far: he probably felt he had to step up his game in front of a new audience but he really does not need to, he was already on the right path between concept and wearability. This is a step back to me.

I like the textiles and colors, but it doesn't register to me as something truly endearing or let alone desirable, not even in that "jeez I can't wait to see these in some indie mag" kind of way.

The first 10 looks or so, with the greyscale bag paddings and pockets, is pretty cool and charming, then the looks with the weaved tops are incredible... and the rest is just waaay too intellectual for me, lol. It's not innovative or intelligent enough to admire, not warm or evocative enough to make me feel good about it, and I'm really struggling to see how it's gonna be successfully adapted to retail. I think he's tangled up on his own hype and it's so unfortunate for someone so clearly talented as he is.
