Ther are described as "Exotic watersnake slingbacks have sexy cutout design and eel bow detail" - errrrr??? (the thing is I'd give them a go!!) :)

Anyone ever heard of watersnake shoes? (what the *** is a watersnake?)

Watersnake is just a kind of snake, that lives in water.....simple as that really. I guess the weirdest material I've heard of for shoes is stingray skin....it looks really cool though, great texture.

My vote for weirdest material is eelskin. Ever handle a live eel? Yecch!

Very cool shoes…..I like the over-all effect of the snake skin.

I’ve not worn or even handled eel skin shoes (well not knowingly ) but have seen boots made from Ostrich that were quite stunning. They were a bit on the expensive side tho...

Burberry's lace-up boots (as seen on the runway) are eel ... pretty reasonable price too, I thought, all considering.

i got a pair of dolce & gabbana ( black label) ponted shoes and the lady in the shop ( harvey nichols) said that they were salmon skin . sounds mad but they r the most comfortable shoes ever. but i dnt think they will work with the rubbish weather that we have here in bonny scotland!!

I have Versace Eelskin shoes from this spring/summer 02 collection - I had no idea they were made from eels (my second most hated creature EVER! ) until I had worn them a few times then read the box.... UGH! The fabric is made up of thin strips, though...just wide enough to be an eel.

On a similar note, I remember salmon skin bikinis from a few years back

I think it's crazier to wear shoes with feathers on them

Well someone in the thread said Theyskens is a fan of taxidermy and the birds were already dead.. but still.. thats just.. gross. And can you imagine if this trend took off.. which it wouldn't of course because people have some common sense!.. people would not just wait for birds to die so they could just glue them on their shoe...

I love those shoes...Very Galliano. I never though Theyskens could do something so beautifully hideous.

they are not. if they are real bird. when they decompose some parts will drop off and eyes and tummies will become hollow. they are just stuffed birds using real feathers.

OMG. It looks like someone squished and killed their child's parakeet, then didn't notice, walking around with it on their shoe like toilet paper. That is just wrong.
