^ I totally agree! I watched the video of Daphne first and after her Karlie and I noticed that the answers given by Karlie were much more varied. BUT I must say, Karlie is an American and English is not Daphne's first language. Perhaps it makes her afraid..

But she manage to get booked over and over again, so despite her personality (not that she's bitchy, she seems very sweet though) she is able to amaze the casting directors... thumbs up!

About the first part: for a Dutch girl (and she is now almost 17) her English is quite poor. However she is really sweet and give a answer to everything and that makes her just adoreble. It indeed doesn't seem a problem for castingdirectors and photographers. So I think her English is good enough for work, but for like PR (not that she does but if) or interviews is just not that good.

But people can't understand and believe me or not but when a language its not your mother tongue, its always a bit hard to handle completely., Its always will be a lack of something.

No offence but as a Dutch girl myself, I can say that her english is below average (for a dutch girl). With our accent we can easily speak other languages (don't know what that is), and consider the fact we get English lessons when we are 10 years old and that goes on till you graduate (so minus 6 years, max 8 years), you can expect more from her. And sure, it always lack on something. I can speak it pretty good, but I think the grammar is a b*tch.
But since we are all different, it can be that she just isn't good in English and that's fine.

Ah well, since she is a model and not a journalist, i'd say: i'm curious which campaign(s) she will grab. Haven't heard a single rumour yet. Anyone?

Back to the commentary on that video, her age almost certainly has something to do with her lack of command of the language. Even if English is taught in Dutch schools at the age of 10, she would have only gotten 4 or so years of English class. I really try not to think about how much young models' education is stunted by their modeling careers, but I can't get the thought of of my mind now with Daphne. Sorry if this is too far off topic.

@thisismyname: In Holland we would say: she is already 17 and speaks the language that bad. I think that's the big difference how you and I look at it. Cause believe me, we get very good English lessons!
