Daphne Guinness

I loved her hair two toned. It really made her stand out but in a good way... now shes just looks... I dont know... to dark & vampire like or something.

I don't want to be bitchy or anything but I posted that very article litterally three posts up.

Thank you for the Hqs though, they're great.:flower:
Oh I'm really sorry :ninja:. The moderators are free to delete it.
Thank you because while I was reading the article I had, inexplicably, a déjà vu and I thought "or I was at the party or I've read it from somewhere else before":flower:.

Preview of Akris SS10 ad campaign by Steven Klein :woot::blink::

SWISS fashion label Akris today unveiled its first handbag collection and has chosen über muse Daphne Guinness - looking very unlike her usual blonde self - as the face of the range.

As well as the bag debut the images are another landmark for the label, as the 15th collection which has been shot by photographer Stephen Klein. Working with Akris designer Albert Kriemler, grandson of the company's founder, Klein shot his first Akris campaign with British model Stella Tennant in 1990 - and has shot every one since.

"For one, Daphne is a beautiful and intriguing woman - a fashion icon in her own right," Kriemler explained. "I have seen her photographed by Steven before, she emanates a sense of mystery and aristocracy - there is more to the picture than meets the eye."

The new Akris bags - the trapezoidal-shaped Ai bag and the Amata clutch - pictured with Guinness who is sporting the new spring/summer 2010 colletion, will arrive in stores in February.

I had to reread the title of the thread to make sure it was her!

It'll be interesting to see whether the Dec5-Maybach-LaChapelle-BlissAmongstChaos look was just for that evening, or whether Daphne's style is evolving in the 1920s-decadence route. ie, are we going to see more of this look?

I love the eyebrows. They are a deliberate statement on theatrics.

Private 'avant garde' performance art parties in that period were the domain of the rarified crowd that comprised of artists and the handful of aristocrats who embraced and patronised new art forms.

Personally, I love the haunting images of Louise Brooks and Theda Bara.

I applaud Daphne's 'new look'. She cannot stay looking the same forever, much as I also LOVE her clever 2-tone hair look. She makes brave choices. Erm, and for what it's worth, I much prefer this look to the heavy eye makeup plus Marilyn Mansonesque ice-blue contacts that we saw a while back. Y'know: the photos of her and Amanda Lapore together -- scary!

I really like what I see. However they've been so heavily photoshopped that it hardly looks like her.

And I'm not very familiar with Akris... I'll have to do a search on style.

Oh my goodness... is that really Daphne in the Akris ads? I too had to read the text repeatedly to check.

Yes, she's been photoshopped out of recognition. But at least it's a new look--severe and vampish but a breath of fresh air. Now we'll just have to see if she actually goes around New York like this. (I hope to God we won't see something evocative of that Armadillo-gold-silver mess ever again.)

I always thought Akris was boring, so this is definitely a boost for them.

I'm sure that was the idea, but it still doesn't change the fact that it was a promotional event for cars with an audience of Mercedes executives.
Doesn't have quite the same cachet.

Oh, definitely an improvement.

It happens! ^_^

I dont like the black hair, (and I really dont care for the Akris ads) but I do love the photo you posted, Harumi. Fabulous indeed.
I just dont want her to be hanging with the likes of, sorry to say, LaChapelle.

I've looked back upon my posts in Daphne's thread, found one from a year ago, I say 'She can do no wrong.'

Sadly, I dont still have that opinion of her. Where is the glamour?

I love what she wore on the night diving into the pool, the silver jewelry portion of her uniform, but I dont care for the company she's been keeping!

Then who am I judge a woman I dont know and who she should take up projects with?

Not a fan of David's work or vision. :innocent:
