Daphne Guinness

you are so right, I think this thread should just end because it has become pathetic!
she's just terrible.....

and I don't mean any of you. it is just I don't think it is ever going to go anywhere so better concentrate on other people so much more interesting.
Anyone agree? Just END THE MISERY!

^ I think you're being a tad dramatic

^^^ Cruella de Vil  - Daphne doesn't wear enough fur for that. Oh - and she isn't evil (I guess). Does she ever wear fur?

This thread is so depressing...

I found these photos which if not for the date I would have thought they were old. They were taken between the McQueen disaster and the tragic black dyeing.
I think she looks wonderful . The old allure is present. So she still knows how to do it!

Save Daphne :flower:.

well Daphne has to keep up with the social set of these days, and garner more younger appeal.

That seems to go against exactly what she believed in and stood for before the current malarky. She use to pride herself, and her allure was that she DIDN'T tie herself to trends, popular culture and any of the "social set" that one would conventionally call popular or modern. She was above it.

As for garnering younger appeal - isn't it rather sad that she used to dress only for herself and her own vision, but is seemingly now dressing for others? Again, part of her appeal was that she WASN'T trying to be anything for anyone else, she was just "herself" and a fabulous self that was. Now all i see is insecurity and Daphne losing her identity.

:ninja:

I guess people's styles change with time? And that McQueen bodystocking (is that it in the MAISON CHAPLIN photostream pic) doesn't seem so horrible considering that it was for a shoot - the mesh looks almost graphic on her and I love the 1930s styling (meant to call up associations with her grandmother- Diana Mosley nee Mitford- maybe?).
I am sad to see her hair dyed all black though, but maybe she just wanted a change, who knows.

^also, I'm not sure if people are going to disagree with me on this, but I do think that not everything she wore back in the days before she dyed her hair, was unwearable by people other than her- I see pictures of her in things like black dresses and kimono jackets and sequinned pants, and so many things she wears with a pinched-in waist, and lot sof them actually seem like they'd suit people who didn't share all of Daphne's tastes (or her figure).

nicolasa's right.
depressing.

the hair, I think is temporary I read it was for a shoot or maybe it's a wig.
END THIS THREAD.
it's ridiculous. TFS would be a better place without it.
i am relieved to see no new pictures, and hope it stays that way.

i can't believe she has dyed her hair completely black , it looks awful compared to 'the skunk' she had previous

No its not a wig, and not that I'm 'pushing' for you to explain why you want this thread ended, but that wont happen...too many people here still care about Daphne and want to be updated on her. Since I began posting in her thread (from the beginning pretty much) it has only grown and more people have gravitated to it despite her still being fairly 'unknown'...that's becoming less and less though as she hangs out with LaChapelle.

Anyhow...I dont understand your reasonings for saying that tFS would be better without her thread....are you perhaps Daphne and dont want to be discussed?
