And what about the models of today, who do you love right now?
I love Daria Strokous because she has the elegance, like almost a coquettish feeling. She looks like a modern Kim Novak. And I like the big return of Catherine McNeil, I think she is beautiful too. And of course, I like Joan Smalls because she is unique. But you know, I still love Kate. She’s perennial. She’s unique.
She had the honor of opening the very first ready-to-wear show from Raf Simons for Dior, distilling the essence of the legendary lines of the Bar jacket, the house icon as reinterpreted by the creative director of women's wear. With her strong and radiant allure, Daria Strokous, the model born in Moscow twenty-three years ago, is the embodiment of all women in Dior. In this, for fall 2012, she was a Mitzah Bricard 2.0, a sensual and charming panther for the Golden Jungle make-up collection. The following spring, she was a gracious and feminine couture ballerina for the Chérie Bow collection, before being, this summer, a Bird of Paradise lit up with eyeshadows the color of the sky. But it's with Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin that Daria allowed herself to express her real charismatic power. In front of the two artists' lens, she metamorphoses once again to become a modern-day Marie-Antoinette, pulsing with energy and emotion in the secret gardens of Versailles.
