Model Wall: Daria Stokous
During February’s New York Fashion Week, Daria Strokous was doubling as a vogue.com backstage photojournalist between walking the runways. “I am at my best when I am busy,” she said during her visit to the magazine this week. Most would assume busy—landing an Italian Vogue cover and working with Steven Meisel—would be the perfect way to describe Daria’s demanding schedule. But she wants to do even more. “I am applying to the New School here in New York City,” said Daria, “except, it turns out I want to study everything in the course catalog!” Topping the list: film production, intro to documentary, and digital video. She’s filling her time before going to college by auditioning (today!) at the William Esper Studio for acting; she plays the lead character, Tessa, in the soon-to-be-released movie parAmor. “Acting is so useful when it comes to modeling, especially haute couture,” Daria said. “One day I may be asked to pose as an eighteenth-century duchess and I want to instantly embody that character.” From everyone at Vogue, go Daria!
