Models, makeup artists, and photographers joined in singing “Happy Birthday” to model Daria Strokous backstage at Jil Sander today. While hairstylists were tucking the last pins into her elongated bun, designer Raf Simons’s staff surprised Strokous with an enormous rose-and-wildflower bouquet before the show. “It’s my fifth season working with them!” she said, blushing, by way of explanation. Minutes later they returned with an exquisite cream-and-strawberry layer cake—and took up the chant again. What does the just-turned-21-year-old Russian beauty want for her birthday?” “I’m in a very happy moment of my life,” she said cheerfully, taking careful bites to avoid smudging makeup artist Peter Philips’s power-pink lip while friend Vlada Roslyakova helped balance her plate. “I have everything I want!”
