So sad about his injury. I can't believe he's been ruled out. This was the most perfect way to end his career and then this happens. Can't help but feel terribly bad for him. I still hope that there's some kind of miracle and that everything works out for him.

Oh, I know. Seems like all of his national team experiences are tainted with misfortunes. The red card against Argentina, missing that penalty against Portugal in the Euros, not even making the European Cup in 2008 etc.

David Beckham Undergoes Emergency Surgery

David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, leave a private clinic on Wednesday (March 17) in Turku, Finland.

The 34-year-old soccer star underwent emergency surgery on his left Achilles tendon after injuring himself in the AC Milan/Chievo match on Sunday (March 14).

“I have appreciated so much all the messages I have received after the injury,” David said in a statement (via BBC).

“I want to thank from my heart all the Rossoneri. The club, the doctors, my team-mates and the fans.”

David is expected to recover completely in six months and “will be able to play again,” according to a statement from AC Milan.

Hope it’s a speedy recovery!!
