At the same time as he shot the Jem and the Holograms-inspired fashion story for the January issue of Dazed & Confused, Mariano Vivanco made three films featuring supermodels Kylie Bax, Bridget Hall and Anne V. In Vivanco's first short film, we get behind the scenes access to Bridget Hall as Jem in this fantasy fashion story.
For the other 2 films he celebrates the girl band theme of the shoot, Anne V in a version of Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" and Kylie Bax appears in an adaptation of 1980s singer Spagna's "Call Me".
This shoot for Dazed was the first time these legendary models have been seen together. Kylie Bax hasn't been shot since she paused her career to raise a family; the highlights of her early career include iconic stories with Steven Meisel for Italian Vogue and numerous covers and campaigns from Versace to Escada.
The New Zealand-born model takes modelling to a new dimension with her dedication and love for fashion: "Modelling, for me, isn't about being beautiful but creating something interesting for people to look at and think about," she says. Bax "had a ball" working with fellow New Zealander Mariano Vivanco, whose films capture the star quality of these exceptional women.
Could you post the link to this Meisel video? I don't really know what you're talking about. But I LOVE Jem.behind the scenes are on their dazed digital...
it could more crazy - for Jem and the Holograms (have you ever seen this insane Meisel video back in the 80s????? check it on his thread on tfs or youtube...)
