Deanne Y. Cheuk
It's no surprise Deanne Cheuk was named a "young gun" by New York's Art Directors Club. In addition to art directing Tokion, a cult favorite bimonthly on fashion and graphic design, and catalogs for Urban Outfitters, the multitasker self-publishes Neomu, a palm-size flip-book magazine (proceeds go to charity), and is about to release her first hardcover tome, The Mushroom Girls Virus Book, a collection of her watercolors and collages. Oh yes, and did we mention she launched a clothing label, Liness, earlier this year? Slacker…

More information available at www.liness.net, www.neomu.com, and www.mushroomgirlsvirus.com

thanks for the thread perlefine!

funny i just saw something posted about her on foto_decadent the other day.
i like her style of drawing it's very much en vogue at the moment this mix of jugendstil and watercolour, no?
i'm not so fond of her clothing line, we have a topic on it at d&c, i think.

Very en vogue, I've never used that term before :D
It's not like I saw someone mentioning her name on foto_dec and then thought I'd make a thread on her.. at all

The only piece I liked from her line 'boyliness' is that beastly black & blue shirt, 'owliness' seems downright Imitation of Christ.

Does anyone have more info about her?

here is the thread about her line

i love that she can use so many different styles...very graphic and very painterly at the same time.

mixing the media really makes the work unique . . . i feel like my eyes are overwhelmed (in a good way) because i don't know where to look first . . . great details
