Deck shoes are having a definate renaissance this summer. Not just for the preppy up-turned collered boating crew any more .. this is a massive street trend at the moment. Some wear between a casual flat shoe and a sport shoe. The perfect summer shoe..continuing on the boy shoe trend we have been seeing over the past few seasons

I havent found many examples of this on the runways, but you only have to look around the shops and on peoples feet to realise this is a big trend

for men and women !!

major hit on british high street with nearly everyshop having there own version

I always think of Vampire Weekend!

soundonthesound.com,

I've seen a femme sport some boat shoes earlier today. Wore what looked like some Hollister or American Eagle short-shorts (love or loathe) and some of those boat shoes. I somewhat think of these as ballet flat alternatives. Only that unlike ballet flats, boat shoes are unisex. One of the best things to know about good fashions is if they can be worn confidently and nicely por hommes et femmes (pardon my French or lack of French). With the right clothing to compliment them, boat shoes are truly casual cool.

The office ones are super cute, I had a look through the window yesterday. I like them with denim.

I LOVE boat shoes, especially those dark chocolate leather sliders.
I own a couple of Sperry's, pair them with a casual outfit (jeans, t-shirt, bag) and I'm off!
I'm afraid they may become too cliche because I see everyone wearing them now, and I tend to favor indie trends.
But mainstream or not, I still favor them as a staple casual piece.

I just ordered a pair from Sperry and I'm SO excited to get them !!!
