sorry for such a silly question, but do they scratch easily?
Like, would it be adviseable to get a case for it?

Nobody else seems to agree, but my iPod mini practically scratches when I look at it. It's ridiculous. I dropped it lightly onto thick carpet once and it dented. I'd absolutely advise getting a case.

Tonight I just bought a soft "silicone" case by Belkin at Wal-Mart I can't decide what case I want but I needed one until I get a better one. And I like it because it's soft and hardly even looks like it has a case on it

Lol just get a pencil with a good eraser, like a BIC mechanicle and erase it.

My Mini doesn't sratch, but I dropped it on the sidewalk and its got a big dent in the corner. The aluminum is a weak grade. And since its powdercoated it can sracht somewhat

But way better than the full size the chrom back will srach it self while its still sealed in the box!

i find my mini really durable to be honest. I dropped it onto the road and I only got one small scratch/dent on the top corner.

Don't know if this one has been mentioned but VW did 2 awesome cases for the larger ipods. In her PP Man accessories collection. I bought my bf one in cognac leather to match his messenger bag for xmas, so excited to give it to him!
