Sad. Dan seems so image obsessed which really puts a damper on his potential "coolness". But then again, Hollywood is obsessed with putting awkward young adults into uber-sexed up photoshoots, so I'm not sure who I'm going to blame for this cover and editorial. Ha ha.

I agree. I personally find these pictures distasteful...he seems desperate to decimate his Harry Potter image.

This is very awkwardly done. He was taking the first steps towards a more adult persona with his recent stage appearance in the play Equus; if the script demands it, at least there's a point to being naked on stage. But what's the reasoning behind these images? He's just dressing up to shock. That's why it feels wrong, rather than experimental. He has yet to grow into this sort of stuff, and really inhabit it. One day, just not today.

I have to say, I don't think he's ugly at all, he's grown into a delicate young man and I think he looks good on the cover. I can imagine many a heart has thoughts of corrupting that tender flesh...
