Alexander Wang’s 10th anniversary show was memorable in so many ways but one of the biggest surprises was the presence of male models on his S/S 16 runway. Many wondered who the dark haired new face with the shaved eyebrow was; once you met Diego Villarreal, it’s evident that he has the whole modeling package. His turn on the runway yesterday for Balmain x H&M proves that he’s continuing to make waves. Lisa Jarvis styles and interviews the gregarious Spaniard from Madrid, while Marcus Cooper shoots him in Givenchy/BLK DNM and Diesel.

Describe your favorite childhood memory.
Exploring the rocks with my sister in the beach of Mallorca

What’s the best thing you’ve ever done?
Shooting model Stella Lucia for 15 minutes before we left Paris with my stylist friend Lisa. (Ed. note: Diego is also a photographer)

Guy Bourdin.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I chug honey straight (but everybody knows that)

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a spy.

What was your first impression of the States when you first arrived?
High School Musical

My friends and gazpacho

What city do you want to go to most?
Tokyo, New Delphi, Prague, Istanbul

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
On an island smoking while wearing a pareo – all my friends are invited but that’s the dress code.
