Dior Beauty S/S 2015 : Jennifer Lawrence

Is she doing Beauty as well now? What happened to Sasha? I hope they didn't drop her in favour of Jennifer.

I think they are sort of copying the Rouge Coco marketing strategy, no?

I hope that this means that they will find someone else for the Miss Dior Handbag adverts

Although I prefer models in my campaigns I do think that she does look quite pretty in that photo.

Like everything about this brand nowadays, it's so lifeless. Jennifer Lawrence seems great, but I wish they would find another young actress to have as a brand ambassador. It's clear she isn't a good fit.

I feel like Dior is always one step behind Chanel. The campaigns, the locations of their Resort/Prefall shows...

She looks beautiful but no matter how hard they try this, she is not a Raf woman.

At Dior, they jumped too fast behind Oscar winning actresses who didn't have any connection with their brand...

Can Dior stop with Jennifer already? Seriously all those campaigns she did for them, she looks the same every time! I'm so done with this collaboration...

Dior has been behind Chanel for quite a while, but only because they decided to copy Chanel wherever possible. that endless emphasis on the bar suit silhouette? their reply to Chanel's tweed. the Cannage that is EVERYWHERE now? Chanel's quilting. moving their perfumery to fully in house? also done first by Chanel. the Miss Dior line of bags (or basically all the new bags)? the classic Chanel 2.55.

it reeks of desperation and it really shows.

What's the point of taking a young casual vivacious girl and making her lifeless old and formal repeatedly? If that's the look they're going for then get someone else who can do it better. I agree with oxymore, she does look the same in every campaign...it's actually kinda hard differentiate between the different campaigns. She's a pretty girl with decent modelling skills, why does dior keep doing this?

why not a model? i hate all dior campaigns with a celeb it makes them instantly forgettable

Because the ads are blending into one, I don't know what she's selling, and I don't want to know. This side of Dior is one big bore.

Personally I think this would make quite an interesting thread all on its own. It's not just Dior that shows the occasional sign of Chanel imitation :ermm: But I'm not sure this is a bad thing, because I think some houses improve on it. I'm curious about why this following in the footsteps of Chanel is so popular ... is it because the house is perceived (in France, and elsewhere) as the template of fashion?

Normally I don't engage in discussion regarding celebrity vs. model but I have to agree with the majority on this one. As much as I don't mind seeing Jennifer Lawrence fronting a Dior campaign, this is extremely tiresome and I'm failing to see how it's selling lipstick. The vest she's wearing looks more attractive. I'm also failing to understand how this underwhelming shot is going to translate at the Dior counters. Sasha's advertisements caught your eye! They had a strong and evident theme - this is just another portrait of Jennifer and it's unappealing at this stage.
