My boss has gone for this week to Italy to go to an event called "piti" I know that it is related to some designers and brands, but I would like to know more about it.
Can anyone help me?
i think its some kind of pr, they hosted a boombox party in milan which was fun, people that i know who work in pr have also gone thats about all i know
I went to the pitt u'omo in florence about 2 summers ago..its pretty much a trade fair of all the mens italian designers but its really big in the fashion world..its not cheesy in any way. you have to be invited and all this stuff..
Pitti (uomo, donna and filati yarns) are trade fairs all shown at the Pitti palace grounds in Florence each season for buyers and designers to order the following season's fabrics or yarns.

Tomorrow there will be a GUESS fashion show there, but unfortunately it not as popular as Milan Fashion Week and therefore very difficult to find pictures.
Off topic ... but I'd like to respond. PR=Public Relations is correct, as VICTIM said. It's the people who promote the brand/designer/store/celebrity ... whoever their client is ... to the public. It's a bit like advertising ... but much more complex. PR companies write copy that they hope will end up in magazines and on TV, plan openings and parties and invite all the proper people and celebs, get the press there for coverage, deal with lending clothing samples to stylists for magazine editorials and dozens of other things to create some buzz and excitement about their client. There's a couple of threads in this forum on PR, if you'd like to know more.
