My conclusion is that one of the big culprits here are the clothes. I liked the clothes on the runway but it is not translating well in the campaign IMO, I don't know if it is the collection itself or the items selected for a specific image, I am not saying that the styling is wrong in every image but there are more misses than hits. I think that the scenery, photography and the other family members save the campaign and maybe slapping a logo on a bunch of pretty pictures will be enough from a brand awareness standpoint.

I like how all D&G collection have a specific theme. This year it's vegetables. Then I realized that spring/summer 2011 collection by Stella McCartney was all about fruits. Just a coincidence?

Imagine a rich old money Italian family on their yacht posing, each showing their characteristics through their choice of clothing i.e. two wild child daughters (Bianca & Monica), with their superbly dressed parents on this huge yacht (say in Porto Cervo) with bottles of champagne etc. All of them having fun with the sun in the background, you get my drift!

Not that they are old money but this is making me think of how awesome it would be to have a campaign featuring a Garavani or Armani inspired patriarch - silver haired, deep tan, impeccable suit ruling over his Euro-trash roost.
