First thing I noticed too! Hermes Kelly paired with Aevitas tacky pumps...giving huge pimp Lady in Miami vibes.
The video is very cringy and quite sad to look at, it's giving Carodaur fashion influencer Who is begging to get an #ad post from Zalando. Watch Dona get and unbox a Prada PR summer box in the next month...so embarassing and humiliating for a power figure like her.
I would have Just got the coin from Miuccia and retired instead of humiliating myself with wannabe 500k followers like posts.

I continue to see it from a different perspective. She doesn't need her coin from Miuccia, neither to do #adv because she already took BILLIONS from Michael... she's 70, retired, very rich, she enjoys shooting these videos every now and then because she knows that gays and fashion lovers will go crazy for her wardrobe and will further fuel her icon status. If you think about it, this type of video is something she has always done and loved to do, from the ice bucket challenge to the various adv videos she appeared in... I don't think she's desperate, I simply think she's finally enjoying her privileged life after years of work! If this were the real humiliation, I would let myself be humiliated every day!

ive totally missed out on the theatrics in this thread. Unfortunately i dont have any strong feelings towards versace, it just exists for me but its not for me. Too expensive and too unwearable for my taste.

To be honest, it’s not that dissimilar to how some like to style themselves. Is it vapid and putrid? Yes. And it will phase out quickly but it isn’t too far from what everyone likes.

Now why this is still being in production and existing over VERSUS baffles me. I know VERSUS was dissolved into Jeans/Jeans Couture but it should have been the other way around. It sounds better, looks better on a label and it also would allow for the mainline to have an air of stronger maturity (in theory).

Versus had no purpose as soon as Versace itself shifted towards Gen Z coded collections / styling...Versus would have turned into the slightly less expensive version of the mainline and of course people would have gone for the original since the price different had been kinda irrilevant, it makes totally sense for the management decision to shut it down altogether.
Versace Jeans Couture has actually a purpose cause it caters to chav girlies and boys who want to flaunt the iconic baroque motif that big VERSACE JEANS COUTURE logo plastered on 99% of the garments at 50% - 25% of the Versace tag.
Remember that we live in a world filled with people thinking Mario Valentino bags are actually from Valentino Garavani brand because of the V logo, most people looking at a baroque motif or gold embroidery / printing on a black shirt will automatically associate the item to Versace.
Allegra, given the fortune she inherited from her uncle, should stop wasting time in fashion (cause she has no business doing that) and start investing into Blackrock or any other finance joint venture

Versus makes more sense to keep than jean couture it could have been the miu miu of the group it has the validity/authenticity to exist as such but now its bit to late or wrong timing first the new Versace has to be established and work off course...if all goes well they should relaunch it at some point to cover a lower price point and youth like it was intended.

Versace should be upscale and sexy glamours but not shallow bimbo ..sure pop but the culture that Gianni had needs to somehow come back to offset the last years of straightforward ig sexy wear with a nod to old days vibe.
also they need to make new classics no more obvious archive remix..... the approach has to be intelligent and researched but look effortlessly versace and above all freshnes but with a continuity to it even if its setting trends not following them slavishly.

Evident though to this day Versace seems to get over processed by diffusions. Instante dissolved because it created confusion, but now it’s just the two the designs themselves now incite confusion. Versace mainline, Atelier and Versus. Those three would have sufficed. Jeans and Jeans Couture not needed, and Instante wasn’t too dissimilar to what Versus was supposed to be (which was for Donatella after all).

agree but image if Instante continue like this a supper minimal but sensual versace cross of a jil x helmut meets cos wearability :-) almost like a late 90´s /00´s new york vibe work clothes and after work play,

From the way it existed before being dissolved, it’s like Instante was what Gianni wanted Versus to be but didn’t exactly get there under Donatella because maybe she had Gianni-Italia in her peripherals for too long.

Still, this take is frankly needed here for Versace at large. Not for mainline, but for the diffusion. Diffusion doesn’t always mean more youthful/juvenile. Can also just be more urbane, realistic and approachable.
