"Double" outfit...

Preen, spring 2003, with what looks like a bunch of t-shirts sewn to the clothes...

The odd thing is, I just went to the main list of designers and closed my eyes, asking that I might find something. And I clicked Preen first thing that way

I like this...that's pretty wearable... I like the first one esp... thank you.

more from Central Saint Martins...

This really looks great.! :woot:
Very theatrical yes, I like that.
I'm not that big on the Prada one, I guess I prefer it when not toned down.
unfortunately I'm not one of those who is able to pull this off, but I like to look though. . .

great looks, jennifer/sanrio!
It's definitely wearable, but it leaves something to people's own creativity and how they will adapt it on their very personal way, which i love.

^i know, the styling of Undercover shows tend to be a little frightening but there are always beautiful clothes and it's just worth looking at. especially in detail.

closeups.

i really wonder how this whole concept came about...
Like some movements make sense, like deconstruction, reconstruction and different kinds of embellishment
but this one just puzzles me :o

I've had my eyes on this too. I think its most interesting in the Comme des Garçons way, when it becomes a mix between male/female attributes, raises questions about constucted gender etc... (blah blah, I know, but I really do).

I can see it inspire some D.I.Y projects too, like whan you find the perfect blouse that is too small...just sew it on the front of a t-shirt! I think I'm gonna do that myself^_^ .

One more pic: Andrea Ayala Closa from the ffi-06 show (3rd year collection)

I really like this style. Very adaptable to the stage IMO.

But it is one of those amazing on the runway, unwearable on the street sort of things. Maybe in 50 years or so...

:heart: !!! Thanks for posting that, Angie C! I love it :woot: !!!
Maybe this whole double outfit thing came from the students
I hear some established designers look to students for inspiration

This is so creative! I want to make it happen on the street, but need some time to think about how to do it properly.
