Dree Hemingway

She deserves all the recognition she's getting for her street style. She always looks impeccable and chic while making it look effortless.

My problem with her is shown in the V magazine interview - she says she's never read Ernest's books, and thinks having his name is 'a double edged sword", that it holds her back sometimes. However, early on, she didn't even have his last name, and tried to be a model, and it didn't work, so then adopted his name!! (I think.. I remember seeing old photos of her without that last name). So really, she chose it

This argument has been hashed out a few times on this thread and I used to feel the same way (I am possibly the greatest Hemingway fan ever, so I was defensive!) but now I think that the dynamic of someone's family and heritage is really none of anyones business. Either way, she will have always been held in comparison to him but honestly-he was one of the greatest writers in history so the argument is futile.

i insist that she was looking so much better with the "old" hair...

I love her name and she is pretty.. but there are millions of girls who look just like her.. and she is like 5'7

Wooooah she already has 3 major campaigns?!
I seriously don't see whats so "wow" about her apart from her streetstyle which is pretty amazing

Listen, I'm in no sense a Dree fan, but that girl can model. She evokes with every frame and there's never a dull image of her (regardless of if you like her face or not). Her "wow" factor seems to be how impressive she is in print, at least for me anyway.

MEMORABLE MODELS OF 2009: FUTURE FORCES

Dree Hemingway

Jan 13th 2009. Dree visits the MDC offices and turns a standard go-see into a entertaining moment of show and tell (as seen on MDX). Cut to a year later and this ferociously ambitious young model has a Fall Gucci gig as well as three Spring campaigns under her belt (Valentino, Gaultier, Ferré) as well as a super-sized raft of editorials in V, W, Love, Purple, ID, Vogue Paris, as well as US/British/ Russian Vogue. It is a new decade and new ideal and all these signals are pulsing that the industry needs the kind of frisson Miss Hemingway brings to the set.

..damn i think i kinda like her

She looks so stunning in the Gianfranco Ferré campaign, it's scary. The whole campaign is absolutely gorgeous; her poses and the styling: perfect. I think I'm becoming a Dree fan right now.

I totally agree-I enjoy her street style but in no way think she is beautiful or even attractive, yet she emotes so well, her work is pretty expressive. I think that being a good model and being good looking are completely irrelevant to each other....
