The Duke and Duchess of Windsor arrive in Britain as guests of the Queen for the first time after his abdication. Edward, the former King of England, married Wallis Warfield in France in 1937. American socialite Wallis Simpson, born Bessie Wallis Warfield (1896-1986), married Lieutenant Spencer in 1916 but the marriage was dissolved in 1927. In 1928 she married Ernest Simpson, but was divorced from him in 1936 after meeting Edward, the Prince of Wales. Edward VIII (1894-1972) became King of Great Britain in 1936 but was never crowned due to public disapproval of his future wife and wedding. They married after his abdication. He was given the title Duke of Windsor and they emigrated to the Bahamas where he was governor between 1940 and 1945. She published her memoirs "The Heart Has Its Reasons" in 1956 and he published "A King's Story" (1951).

Gah, this woman was deplorable! :yuk:

I read somewhere she was trained in the east by postitutes. She must of been fantastic in bed to snag Edward VIII.

I'm reading a book on her now called The Secret Life of Wallis Simpson and it details how she was taught in brothels, allegedly, apparently it came in handy cause the duke had strange bedroom behavior...it's also full of all the info about she and the duke being Nazi sympathizers......I didn't think it was true but there is a lot of damning evidence...
