Hi everyone. I am not sure if a new thread should be started for this topic, but mods, please use your discretion to merge this post to somewhere more appropriate if necessary.

I just received my ebay announcement email with great news for those of us who are active in reporting fake handbag items (amongst other items) to eBay (and thank you for those who are actively doing this!!! :flower:):

***Introducing 'Report this Item' on item pages***

April 03, 2006 | 04:26PM PST/PT

Hi everyone… I'm Naresh Narwani, a Product Manager for Trust and Safety features. Earlier this year, Matt Halprin, VP, Global Marketplace Policy Management, in his message on new consequences and other policy management processes [ http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200601261616502.html?ssPageName=CMDV:AB], outlined our plans to make it easier for members to report possible listing violations.

I'm happy to say that the "Report this Item" feature will be here over the next few days. Every item page will have a "Report this Item" link at the bottom of the page. Using this link will bypass the Contact Us flow and take you directly to a list of possible reasons why a listing needs to be brought to our attention. This will save you valuable time and help us review potential listing violations quickly. The item number will be included automatically when you use this link.

With millions of active listings on eBay on any given day, we need your help in keeping the marketplace safe. We truly appreciate the efforts of our members who report potential violations to us, and help us keep eBay a safe marketplace to buy and sell.

Sincerely,

Naresh Narwani,
Product Manager, Trust and Safety

I don't really think this goes in the handbags section.... maybe shop til you drop?

thanks for moving it luna...i really wasn't quite sure where to put it. hopefully shop til you drop is the right venue. :)

thanks for the news, shopping. i'd be shocked if ebay became vigilant a/b fakes. 95% of their handbag revenue is fakes. it's nice for them to do this, but how they balance their company blah blah with their actions is so off-kilter.

i am hopeful that this new process will streamline things on their end to boot off those horrible fakes that is gouging people's money away.

I hardly bother reporting fakes anymore, because it doesn't seem like ebay does anything about it anyway. I once reported every bag in an ebay store, because it bothered me that the same seller had been selling fakes for up to $1500 each, since this fall (I know because I came across the same seller when I was looking for a green Spy) Ebay did nothing. Of course. It feels like a waste of time, and maybe it wouldn't feel that way if ebay at least took the time to send a reply other than the automated one. I think it also would help if they included a space where you could explain how you know the item is fake, as that might make them take you more seriously. Or not, as I'm sure ebay makes tons of money off selling fakes. *sigh*

This is rediculous, Dior bags doesn't come with satin dustbags. But if I report it, I bet ebay wont find anything wrong with it.
