I think it's both. We're moving past the point where "signature" Eckhaus Latta pieces make you stand out as a cool kid, but beyond that immediate identification, the knits and denim (etc.) are great and will continue to be desirable. I can't say the same about the awful cutout tees and such above, but that's a matter of the split between runway and retail.^I'm not sure. I feel like, except for all the gimmicks, they have some really solid basics here, and they don't really try too hard to be something they're not, as in, they seem to know their place in the ecosystem. Obviously it feels like a shadow of Helmut Lang, but it's still nice for the standards of NYFW.
