Eckhaus Latta S/S 2026 New York

I’ve never hated eckhuas latta but I do feel that it has always relied heavily on being this artsy cool kid brand. The issue is they aren’t kids anymore and the brand doesn’t feel cool anymore. What’s left hasn’t evolved leaving a very confusing identity for customers.

^I'm not sure. I feel like, except for all the gimmicks, they have some really solid basics here, and they don't really try too hard to be something they're not, as in, they seem to know their place in the ecosystem. Obviously it feels like a shadow of Helmut Lang, but it's still nice for the standards of NYFW.

I think it's both. We're moving past the point where "signature" Eckhaus Latta pieces make you stand out as a cool kid, but beyond that immediate identification, the knits and denim (etc.) are great and will continue to be desirable. I can't say the same about the awful cutout tees and such above, but that's a matter of the split between runway and retail.
