The Rashida dress brings to mind this custom Balenciaga worn by Lily Gladstone last year...

There’s 2 things that her facial expression tells me.

1. She’s seen unnatural things happen across from her on the red carpet (or she’s recalling her haunted past in this very moment).

2. She’s not feeling the Dior fantasy in this…dress (and honestly, who can blame her?).

That Rachida dress could be mistaken for a Maria Grazia's custom look
Judge by yourself, Dior Couture SS20.
As soon as I saw the image I immediately thought "I swear I have already seen this dress construction from Maria Grazia".
You know I am a Maria Grazia stan, but I know she's sitting in a cozy sofa in her Rome villa looking at that gown and yelling "OH THAT'S MY DRESS" LOL

It's almost as if they're both interpreting the Dior archive. This thread is getting ridiculous. Both of the dresses from the Emmy red carpet are clearly playing on 50s Dior silhouettes. MGC didn't invent any of these shapes.

Since when was he so pretentious and cringe? : ( Ties were "a thing" all last year, and all the TikTok boys were big into it. JW is living in an ivory tower at Dior and it shows. He thinks he is some kind of fashion genius and he actually believes it, which is even more depressing. Nothing he has done thus far at Dior has been new or groundbreaking, contrary to what he thinks. At this point Maria Grazia was more groundbreaking at Dior than he is.

Just want to be clear here: the kids are wearing skinny ties to stick it to millennials.

Millennials won.

I know it's nothing new, but I feel like I've never seen something more astroturfed in my entire life. There's no delusion anywhere on anyone's part. No one actually believes in it. This is all intentional like Tesla level generating speculative value. And for something that used to genuinely try setting a standard for beauty... I think I'm gonna try to spend less time online ✌️ bye

Never hire a twink.
i dont think he has ever been a twink, that man is BURLY hes built like a tank - and i say this as a major compliment.

since we're talking about twinks: jwa should ditch the emaciated sad boy in oversized knickers (leave that to hedi or raf) and lean into the rugby history that runs in his family. rugby players posing a la dieux du stade, next to his john ward pottery collection would be less embarrassing and more entertaining than his parade of scrawny twinks, that only look appealing to luca guadagnino

Please DM him this because that’s not half a bad idea. Might at least distract from the train wreck that Dior might become.

That’s workable and I thought that would be the direction he would go when he released his first preview of his Dior Homme.

The dress on Rashida is really very pretty. It just looks so funerary. Would it kill him to go for some color?

I hate this crippling fear modern designers have of traditional silhouettes and colors. Heaven forbid something looks glamorous.

BRAD GORESKI

It looks like Dior by YSL. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s based on a YSL design as Yves was the one who introduced « loose » shapes at Dior.

Tbh, I wouldn’t mind for JWA to lean more towards Yves’s Dior than Bohan’s.

MGC leaned more towards Bohan but without the fun, the opulence and the frivolity. Wearable, comfortable but not the rest.

In all seriousness some tfs users (not me tho i mainly shitpost😭) are giving these brands solid business advice for FREE

me too lol i was expecting some sort of athleticism/an active body and a proposition for a grown men. so far everything he put out at DH is infantile and meek, two things we shouldn't associate w/ dior homme. Hedi's silhouette for DH was lanky and very youthful but it never felt childish, it was extremely comanding. KVA was a bit boring but imo he never made clothes for weak little boys
