Every single cover is outstanding and probably amomgst the best covers of the year so far. Viola is one of the most talented women in Hollywood and absolutely beautiful, but I feel a lot of magazines haven't used her full potential yet (her Elle US cover and InStyle come to mind), but this and also her VF from two years ago just show that is a complete force when it comes to fashion editorials and I want to see more more more. Edward, Anna- what are you waiting for!?
And Jennifer Lawrence is fronting Vogue, such a bad feeling. Viola is the right talent. I'm afraid those major editors don't pay attention to her because she's too classy, a cult person, and also her age (in Vogue's club, only Meryl is admitted). I hope she get her cover soon, I don't want another beauty and talent woman without her Vogue cover.
What I love about the editorial and the cover is that despite having a rather generic theme (Viola Davis as artwork), its execution doesn’t come off too obvious. There’s still subtlety and nuances at play here. If this were handled by someone like Farneti, or any uninspired editors, he would’ve added “The Art Issue” with some annoying layout to drive home the point.
