I think it is not big deal for Wintour to support women’l in Iran as it is a solidarity agreement in the west, but it will be a miracle if Wintour dare to defy the rulling elites to support Palestine women.Major respect towards Elle France for this.
Meanwhile, Anna’s Vogue talks the talk, but Elle puts their money where their mouth is.
So it's a very good thing Elle puts this cover.I had no idea about this story, it's tragic. This a cruel world, left or right, East or West...
Respectfully, when has Vogue ever been about social issues the way that Elle (France) has? It's bizarre that people have such a revisionist view towards Vogue and its content. This is something that's totally in Elle France's wheelhouse, but Vogue (any edition)... not so much. But yes, Anna, Anna, Anna, Anna, etc.Meanwhile, Anna’s Vogue talks the talk, but Elle puts their money where their mouth is.
Of course, Vogue in the past was primarily concerned with high fashion, but I would say that in the last decade or so, the former Bible (especially the Western editions) entire reason for being has been to cater to the Gen Z social justice crowd. It certainly wasn’t the mostly hideous fashion photography and updates on the Kardashians that kept it somewhat alive.Respectfully, when has Vogue ever been about social issues the way that Elle (France) has? I think Vogue often treats social issues almost like an accessory to go with an outfit, it has to be complementary (what should you be concerned with) whereas Elle Fr seems first preoccupied with her social stance and then choose an outfit in accordance to her values.Of course, Vogue in the past was primarily concerned with high fashion, but I would say that in the last decade or so, the former Bible (especially the Western editions) entire reason for being has been to cater to the Gen Z social justice crowd. And when they did actively report on global politics, the result for example was that very questionable article ‘A Rose in the Desert’ , celebrating Asma al Assad of all people.
But I digress, pure high fashion has left the Condé Nast building a long time ago. Elle France in my opinion combines the best of both worlds: actual qualitative Fashion photography and reporting on social issues that is not only predicated on how many likes it will receive online.
