The editorial is incredible! Takes us back to 2000s Amber when she had the short cut. It shows why she's one of the best editorial models of all time. I wish they had chosen a different cover though but I guess a more commercial cover is good for the newsstand. Would love to see her in a classic US ELLE cover/ed shot by Bensimon.

^^^ ELLE France covers have always been on the catalogue side. If you think of them as a fashion newspaper, then you understand their very consumer cover selects.

They are unrivalled for their strength and confidence in their committed fashion direction that’s mature, easygoing and still modern. That they produce weekly issues that’s possessed of solid, directional and aspiration content is admirable when most Vogues can’t even produce a single solid story for a monthly issue. This sort of ragtag of various photographic styles suit the Amber story, since at its core, it’s all about a woman and how she dresses for various moods of her life. The Liya story was also strong. ELLE France isn’t afraid to commit to a certain type of women. And it’s great that it’s women— and not girls, nor women desperately trying to dress like girls.

(LOL Amber does bear a resemblance to Kristin… Not sure if that’s a good thing…)

P.S. There is 5 pages article which basically summaries Amber's career, and it serves as some kind of intro to the cover-story, but it's totally irrelevant for the cover-story itself.

Amber Valletta's story is an absolute feast for the eyes, like a breath of fresh air! So much fashion, glamour and joy for me to fawn over. I genuinely do not have one critique over it, love the beauty styling and the mixture of location and studio images from Giampaolo Sgura.
