Emily Senko

A twenty page editorial titled “New Age of Ford: New York Dolls” by Paul Rowland features in V67 Fall 2010, V Magazine‘s “New York” issue. This study of New York’s downtown girl and its many guises draws on nearly the same behind-the-lens talent as Mr. Rowland’s S/S 11 show package, Ford Vol. 1, including stylist Lester Garcia, but to much different effect. Starched sheets & string of pearls are replaced with a white cyc & thorny necklace by Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. Legacy is replaced with posterity. And after paging through this lengthy story the future looks bright indeed! Having arrived at Ford this spring there is a growing body of evidence including, but not limited to, the T Magazine story, a strong show package premiere, and this V shoot, that Mr. Rowland is settling in rather nicely. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 11 starts on Thursday and there could not be a more timely editorial than this to showcase many of the models who comprise the New Age of Ford.

^She makes a genius Material Girl in that shot. I love that the way her eyebrows were utilized to give you that 80's Madonna feeling.

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing her in ALL the right places...!

Looks like someone is poised to have a great freshmen season on the runways...:ninja:

Ford Army
Straight from the trenches of S/S 11 comes this story titled “Ford Army,” a collaboration between Ford and photographers Zig Tesch + Carolina Tesch, featuring Emily Senko, Ming Xi, Irina Shipunova, Mayara Rubik Marchi, Yenny, and Olivia Gordon. Hair stylist Raymond McClaren brings an almost sculptural approach to his subjects and in doing so adds a layer of complexity that belies the monochromatic light. Makeup artist Carolina Dali gives the models a near radiant quality that translates well in the rich light and inky shadows engineered by Zig and Carolina. Shot in sensuous black & white at Canoe Studios * New York “Ford Army” provides just the sort of war game exercise, as it were, that will no doubt put casting directors and designers alike on high alert.

Complete credits include: Creative direction / photography, Zig Tesch + Carolina Tesch; Styling, Andrew Holden at Walter Schupfer Management; Hair, Raymond McClaren at Mildred Inc.; Makeup, Carolina Dali for Giorgio Armani Beauty; Studio, Canoe Studios * New York City; Special thanks, Jay Stradwick and David Canoe.
