Glamour.com - 01-04-2012As Emily Thorne on Revenge, Emily VanCamp plays a woman trying to avenge her father’s downfall by slowly and strategically destroying those who wronged him (much to our entertainment). But in real life, the 25-year-old self-described “T-shirt-and-jeans girl” is far less calculating. “I feel for her, but Emily and I are polar opposites,” she says in our February issue. “I don’t have sociopathic tendencies!”
Glamour: So what’s it like shooting with these two supercute boys?
Emily VanCamp: Nick [Wechsler] and Josh [Bowman] could not be more different but are both so great. Josh and I have moments where we just crack up—specifically, when I have to speak Japanese. The crew hates us, because they want to to home for the day!
Glamour:Are you good with makeup?
Emily VanCamp: Yes, I’ve learned how to do a nice job—I did my sister’s makeup for her wedding! My mom is learning how to put lashes on herself. My makeup artist gave her a little box of them to practice at home.
Glamour:What’s your beauty philosophy?
Emily VanCamp: Less is more. I just started using Natura Bissé products on my skin, and they’ve been working well. I use MAC peach-color blush and Lancôme mascara, and there’s a clear moisturizing lip balm I love by Dr. Hauschka Skin Care. I experiment in my downtime, even if I end up wearing the wrong red lip. And I bump it up for a date, because it’s important to look good for your partner.
Glamour:You’re newly single. What do you look for in a guy?
Emily VanCamp: Integrity and humility. Also, if he can make me laugh, that’s the key to my heart.

When Emily VanCamp, the 25-year-old Port Perry, Ont., actor who stars on Citytv’s runaway hit Revenge, walked on-set at Chris Nicholls’ Toronto photo studio, all heads turned. The 5’8” former ballet dancer looked gorgeous in a yellow Emilio Pucci dress, cut mid-thigh to spotlight her athletic legs, and towered in a pair of blue Jill Stuart peep-toe pumps with a wide gold heel. The shoes weren’t just pretty to look at. “I chose them because they’re comfortable,” VanCamp said, laughing. Over the course of the six-hour day, she slipped in and out of flirty spring dresses by Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs as Florence + the Machine, Scissor Sisters and Foster the People played. Joining FLARE’s team at the monitor, VanCamp studied the shots, weighing in on her favourite looks. Leave mean girls and ice queens for the bitter dead of winter—Emily’s warm attitude is the perfect way to welcome spring.
On her style evolution: “Coming from a small town in Canada, it was not something that ever came naturally to me, this whole dressing up thing. I used to really envy the girls who could just throw something together so beautifully because I had no concept of how to do that…It’s taking what makes you feel comfortable and bumping it up a notch.” On her breakup from Vampire Diaries star Joseph Morgan: “I’m working non-stop in L.A., he’s working in Atlanta. It kind of makes it impossible. It doesn’t take away from the love that two people have, and I think he’s extraordinary.”
On the qualities that make for a perfect boyfriend: “It’s all about making me laugh. I can be quite serious sometimes so laughing is key. I think it’s important to be with a guy who has a strong sense of integrity. That’s how I was raised, and that’s something I look for. And humility. I think people who lack humility are really annoying.”
StarfeineRevenge’s stars Josh Bowman and his costar girlfriend were spotted showing some PDA while on a lunch date at Little Dom’s in Los Feliz, CA.
The couple are seen holding each other and about to kiss while sitting at an outside table and enjoying the sunny Los Angeles weather.
The british actor who dated Miley Cyrus and Amy Winehouse was also spotted grocery shopping the day before at a local supermarket.
