I don't see the appeal of her gown. It looked like she was going to go egdy/risque, but got cold feet at the last minute and threw a tux jacket over it to hide the 'risque' elements of the gown. (I'm tux jacket/sheer dress is the same as it was on the runway --- it's just how it comes across to me.)

I do like her hair and makeup though.

I'm so freaking excited for the Oscars after that glorious Dior look. Honestly it will be hard to top this one. She looked perfect from head to toe. To the people who say or think that Raf's aesthetic for Dior is unwearable well she clearly proved, like Emma Watson and Leelee Sobieski do as well, that when it's done right there's nothing more elegant than his minimalism. I'm also in love with the hair & makeup. It's so good to see her hair styled like that.

I finally saw Birdman and what brilliant film it is. The cast is astonishing, it's definitely a career-defining performance for Emma. With such a strong cast she managed to still stand out and even steal scenes from Keaton or Norton. Honestly her performance is way more impressive than Arquette who's oddly winning everything for what is to me just a good performance. ( I wish Edward Norton would get more credits for Birdman though because he really is the star of the film.)

Seriously, if the GG and the SAG awards are any indication I might as well call her my Oscar's best dressed now.

And regarding Birdman, the whole cast is perfect. I think Norton's performance is getting overshadowed by JK Simmons, unfortunately, just as Emma is second best to Arquette. Her scenes on the roof are so great, as with her massive eyes in the last scene. (But I can't fault Arquette on her last scene in Boyhood).

They went a bit overboard on the fake tan and bronzer for Emma in that trailer. I know the film is set in Hawaii, but she is so naturally pale that it just looks odd and unnecessary. Anyway, I will see it just because she and Rachel McAdams are in the same film
