I like the hair style, but I've never liked her with the blonde, you can tell it's dyed and it looks almost like a wig :S i loved the color she had in Easy A..the reddish brown!
As for her dress, I like the top half but I don't like the little train coming out from behind :S

I agree with most replies here, though, this was far from her best look. And to me at least the major culprit was her hair. It looked fried and 80's rock dude- y. I didn't love the dress either, but I think it at least highlighted her legs (what does she do to make them look so peternaturally smooth)??

I loved her look at the Pre-Oscar party.

I'm still not getting the Lindsay Lohan comparisons. They are absolutely ridiculous. Stone's career is in a much better place than Lohan's career was when she turned blonde. Not to mention, she's blonde for a reason...and she's a natural blonde! I feel like all this moaning about her hair seems ridiculous. Did you want her to wear a wig for the role just because she looks better as a redhead. I'm sure she'll go back to red. This girl is only getting started.

Anyway, the hair and makeup isn't so bad in HQ, surprisingly. I love the dress. Absolutely love it. It looks amazing in the last picture.

But the hair is for a role, it's no different to Renee Zellweger putting weight on to play Bridget Jones or Natalie shaving her head for V for Vendetta. It happens all the time, actors just have to live with it. For all we know, she's not keen on the blonde herself. The dress looked great though. and her make-up was pretty.

Well it's clearly not a career based comparison- for me there's something I can't point out that is there facially. I never saw it until she lightened her hair.

Furthermore, it isn't the colour so much as the awkward cut and styling in the Oscar pictures...

I'm not completely opposed to the pattern of the dress, but the dress itself is not cute.
And I don't understand why she couldn't style her hair like she did for the Baftas or the GG?

I don't think anyone was comparing their careers. When a newly blonde Emma overdid the fake tan a while back, it definitely brought Lindsay (circa 2005) to mind.
