EXCLUSIVE: Will Emma Stone ever get away from those pesky zombies?
The "Zombieland" star has been offered the lead role in Lionsgate's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," with Craig Gillespie directing.

Seth Grahame-Smith, who penned the original tome, is writing the script with Marti Noxon. Lionsgate had no comment on the offer.

Pic is a spinoff on the Jane Austen novel -- with the twist that Bennett and Mr. Darcy are fighting off zombies, as the title implies.

Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Richard Kelly, Ted Hamm and Sean McKittrick are producing through Portman's Handsomecharlie Films and Kelly's Darko Films.

Stone can be seen next in Sony's "The Help." She's repped by WME.

I absolutely loved the book. This seems to have fallen in the right hands. I'm a big fan of Lars & the Real Girl so I have complete faith in Craig Gillespie.

According to Deadline it looks like Emma passed on the role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Emma Stone passed on the heroine role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Lionsgate's adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel that mixes the 1813 Jane Austen classic with a legion of bloodthirsty zombies. While talent gets offered and passes on movies every day, Internet reports now trumpet offers, even if the journalists have no idea whether the actor is at all interested in doing the movie. In this case, an offer was made but it never got to the negotiation stage, I'm told.

@Lolasvelt, I am happy to see Emma on the cover of Vanity Fair, but considering that according to NYPOst's Page Six their September issue cover girl is Lohan (seriously why???) I think VF is loosing its allure.
