Erdem S/S 2022 London

I usually love Erdem's unapologetic romanticism. But, this looks heavy for a spring/ summer collection.

This collection is very 'Erdem on autopilot', kinda soulless and directionless. While it had all his signature details, it didn't really hit the mark. That's a shame, because it's his 15th anniversary.

It's alright. His work is usually inoffensive on the eyes so I can't hate it. A lot of it looks like Sarah Burton's leftovers though.

Though I am getting tired of designers slotting menswear into the lineup, especially when it does nothing for the collection.

These knitwear pieces are incredible. I NEED them when (if) they hit stores- both him and hers.

Erdem Moralioglu is probably the best candidate for Valentino if they need a successor. He always managed to bring elegance and romanticism to his collections. I guess there must be some women buying into those aesthetics like Erdem and Emilia Wickstead.
