For me, it's my new millennium version of a Flapper girl, all about being confident with your sexiness. And being sexy for yourself first and then others, not the other way around.
I think that is exactly the key. If you try to be sexy for others and have that in mind while getting dressed it just comes off a tacky and vulgar. I hate that in your face sexyness that is so often seen on the street nowadays. I prefer a more sophisticated, subtile sexyness worn by a confident woman.

I love this trend, I think see through fabrics are a very good example of subtile sexyness. I have this black Prada-esque lace top that I love to wear with a skin colored bra underneath. The cut of the top is very classic and elegant but the fact I wear nothing but a bra under it gives it a subtle sexy touch. ^_^

Personally I don't think that there is anything "tacky and vulgar". My choice of clothes is just how I prefer to show myself & my sexuality. In the face sexyiness and no sexiness should be tolerated equaly, as well as everything in between.

I would further your analysis by adding that wanting to correspond to fantasies of others instead of developing your own is quite sick (in a not so good way). Everyone enjoys being desired. Phantasms are part of the "erotic act". I think that what is played here does not turn only around the contents of these phantasms but also of their application.

But the dilemma remains; most people live very badly with their desires in a society whose ultimate goal is to convert into a concrete thing all it can.

....
Lanvin (the ribbons are a mix of delicacy and bondage)
speaking of bondage, Prada and YSL also had chokers..
Prada's made of knit and stretched , barely fitting the neck
and YSL's made of metals..

Prada also had these heavy-looking black chains with parts dangling
and braces.. maybe made of latex
for the neck and arms
Like a torture device

Certainly a weird+dark kind of erotica
Feels more gothic to me

i love it .. but some of it so unwearable. Id get stared to death if I wore some of these outfits where I live. I would probably need security as well! lol.

funny how Madonna's Erotica/You Thrill Me came on when i was looking through this thread lol but i love this style!

Fishnets, use of nails for heels, heavy use of leather-like fabrics...

love this trend and love the outfits in this thread

this vibe is totally the thing im doing for myself as well. that conservative strict refined sexiness with a brooding darkness to it
